New AI Powerhouse: Foxconn and Nvidia’s 100 MW Center

Foxconn, the Taiwanese tech powerhouse, and Nvidia, the leading chipmaker, have announced a joint venture to build a state of the art artificial intelligence data center in Taiwan with a total capacity of 100 megawatts (MW).

The project will begin with a 20 MW facility in Kaohsiung, followed by phased expansions up to 100 MW based on available power resources.

Designed as an “AI factory,” this center aims to accelerate AI research, training, and deployment across smart manufacturing, electric vehicles, and smart city innovations.

Nvidia and Foxconn Build Cutting Edge AI Data Center

Equipped with Nvidia’s latest Blackwell architecture GPUs and integrated with the DGX Cloud Lepton platform, the data center will offer scalable, high performance computing to meet increasing AI demands.

Foxconn Chairman Young Liu emphasized the significance of the initiative for Taiwan’s tech ecosystem, while Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang highlighted the partnership’s potential to drive innovation for both companies and the broader industry.

The collaboration also involves Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), further solidifying Taiwan’s role as a leading hub for AI and advanced computing in the Asia Pacific region.

This AI data center is poised to become a key pillar in Taiwan’s digital transformation, supporting advancements in automotive technology, healthcare, and urban development.
