Abu Dhabi to Host Massive New AI Innovation Hub

The United Arab Emirates and the United States have signed a landmark agreement to build the world’s largest artificial intelligence (AI) campus in Abu Dhabi.

Announced at a high-profile event attended by US President Donald Trump and UAE officials, the project aims to position Abu Dhabi as a global hub for AI innovation.

US Lifts Tech Restrictions for Landmark AI Project

Spanning 10 square miles, the AI campus will house a state of the art 5 gigawatt data center developed by UAE based AI leader G42 in partnership with leading US tech firms.

The facility is set to become a critical center for AI research, data processing, and technology development, strategically positioned to provide low latency services to nearly half of the world’s population within a 3,200 kilometer radius.

To minimize environmental impact, the campus will operate on a hybrid energy model, utilizing nuclear, solar, and natural gas power sources.

Additionally, it will include a dedicated science park focused on advancing AI research and solidifying the UAE’s position as a leader in digital infrastructure.

The agreement marks a major policy shift for the US, which previously restricted technology collaborations in sensitive sectors like AI.

Under the new agreement, stringent security measures will be implemented to safeguard AI technologies and prevent unauthorized access.

“The creation of this AI campus represents a significant step forward in our mission to drive technological innovation while maintaining global security and sustainability,” said Aidan Gomez, CEO of Cohere, one of the key partners in the project.
