Canada-based climate tech startup Veritree has successfully raised $6.5 million in a Series A funding round led by Pender Ventures, with participation from Diagram’s ClimateTech Fund, Garage Capital, and Northside Ventures.
With this funding, Veritree aims to leverage AI and blockchain technology to scale its global nature restoration projects.
Veritree Expands Eco-Tech Platform with $6.5M Series A
Originally launched as a spin-off of sustainable fashion brand Tentree, Veritree provides businesses with a platform to manage and verify environmental restoration efforts such as reforestation, mangrove planting, and post wildfire ecosystem recovery.
Since its inception, the company has pledged to plant 100 million trees worldwide and now plans to increase that number to one billion by 2030.
‘Our mission is to transform nature restoration from a cost center to a measurable and trackable asset for businesses,’ said Derrick Emsley, CEO of Veritree.
‘With this funding, we’re enhancing our AI-powered monitoring tools, strengthening our blockchain-based transparency solutions, and expanding into new ecosystems across South America and Asia.’
The funding will also support the integration of AI-powered bioacoustic monitors to track biodiversity and the development of a Social Impact Dashboard to measure the impact of restoration projects on local communities.
As demand for verifiable environmental solutions continues to rise, Veritree is positioning itself as a leader in making nature restoration more accessible, measurable, and impactful for global enterprises.
