Atomic Canyon Raises $7M to Modernize Nuclear Docs

California based AI startup Atomic Canyon has secured $7 million in seed funding to advance its AI driven document search platform, Neutron, designed specifically for the nuclear energy sector.

The funding round was led by Energy Impact Partners’ Elevate Future Fund, with contributions from Commonweal Ventures, Plug and Play Ventures, Wischoff Ventures, Tower Research Ventures, and existing angel investors.

$7M Boost for Atomic Canyon’s Nuclear AI Tech

Founded by Trey Lauderdale, Atomic Canyon tackles one of the nuclear industry’s biggest challenges: managing vast and complex regulatory and operational documents.

Leveraging AI models trained on nuclear specific terminology, the Neutron platform cuts document search times from hours to seconds, helping facilities like PG&E’s Diablo Canyon Power Plant streamline workflows and improve regulatory compliance.

The fresh capital will be invested in expanding the engineering team, enhancing Neutron’s features, and building deeper integrations with third party systems to modernize nuclear operations.

The company aims to boost efficiency, safety, and compliance in the nuclear sector through cutting-edge AI technology.
