Founded in 2015 by a group of passionate developers, Gravitee.io offers a comprehensive platform that supports both synchronous APIs like REST and asynchronous, event-driven APIs including Kafka, MQTT, and WebSockets.
Its open source nature has helped it build a strong global user base with over 200 enterprise clients. The latest funding round, led by Riverside Acceleration Capital and joined by existing backers such as Kreos Capital and AlbionVC, will accelerate Gravitee.io’s roadmap.
The company plans to enhance API security features, improve monitoring and analytics capabilities, and broaden support for multiple API protocols.
A key focus is strengthening federated API management, enabling organizations to seamlessly govern APIs across multiple gateways and event brokers from a single control plane.
