Tech powerhouse Nvidia and Abu Dhabi backed investment firm MGX have announced a groundbreaking partnership to develop one of Europe’s largest AI focused data centers, with a total investment of $9.18 billion.
The project aims to build a high-performance, next generation data facility powered by Nvidia’s cutting edge AI processors and MGX’s strong financial backing.
Designed to accelerate Europe’s position in the global AI landscape, the center will serve as a hub for both public and private sectors.
Although the exact location has yet to be revealed, planning and development phases are already underway, with both partners committed to delivering a state-of-the-art digital infrastructure.
Abu Dhabi Backed MGX Joins Nvidia in AI Push
Once operational, the center will support a wide range of AI-driven applications from autonomous vehicles and biotech research to financial simulations and generative AI models.
The facility will be equipped with hundreds of thousands of Nvidia’s high-performance GPUs, enabling massive data processing and machine learning capabilities.
“This initiative is about more than just infrastructure it’s about enabling the future,” said Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang. “Our collaboration with MGX will empower Europe to take the lead in AI innovation.”
MGX, a sovereign-backed firm focused on advancing global tech initiatives, views this project as a cornerstone of its mission to invest in transformative technologies.
“Our goal is to fuel digital economies and shape a sustainable, tech driven future,” an MGX spokesperson noted.
The data center is scheduled to go live in 2027 and will play a key role in enhancing Europe’s digital sovereignty, reducing dependency on foreign data infrastructure and boosting regional innovation. As nations race to establish AI dominance, this landmark investment signals Europe’s growing determination to carve out its own leadership role in the evolving AI era.
