Logistics Startup Axe Raises €1.5M to Power AI-Driven Transformation

Dublin and London-based AI-powered logistics startup Axe has successfully raised €1.5 million in a pre-seed funding round led by Pitchdrive.

The round also saw participation from Accel Scouts, Enterprise Ireland, and prominent angel investors Colm Long and Colm Lyons.

Axe Eyes U.S. Expansion After €1.5M Funding Success

Founded in 2024 by James McElroy and Dan Quill, Axe develops AI agents that automate routine logistics tasks such as quoting, order entry, scheduling, and phone communications.

The company’s AI solutions seamlessly integrate with existing logistics systems, enabling teams to focus on higher-value strategic activities.

“We’re not just building AI agents that save time; we’re transforming how logistics teams operate,” said James McElroy, CEO of Axe.

“This funding will allow us to expand our engineering team and prepare for entry into the U.S. market.” The newly secured capital will be used to scale the development team, enhance AI capabilities, and accelerate Axe’s go-to-market strategy.

With the logistics sector valued at over $10 trillion and many processes still reliant on manual workflows, Axe aims to drive digital transformation and boost operational efficiency across the industry.
