AI Startup Aniara Secures €600K to Break Language Barriers
Aniara, a Stockholm-based startup on a mission to break down language barriers in publishing, has raised €600,000 in pre seed funding.
The round was led by Aller Media Nordic, with additional backing from angel investor Membriq Invest.
Founded by Rickard Lundberg, Aniara uses cutting-edge AI to help authors translate their books in just 35–45 minutes a task that traditionally takes weeks.
€600K Seed Funding Fuels Aniara’s Publishing Innovation
Once translated and polished with human editing, the titles are distributed globally in digital, audio, and print formats.
What sets Aniara apart is its author-first model: writers pay nothing upfront. The platform covers all costs for translation, production, and distribution, while offering generous royalty rates that surpass industry standards.
Since launching, Aniara has published over 128 titles and partnered with 50 authors, with another 50 waiting to join.
The new funds will be used to grow the platform’s capabilities and onboard more creators eager to reach readers across borders.
“Our goal is to make it possible for any author, anywhere, to go global no matter the language they write in,” said CEO Rickard Lundberg.
Aniara is redefining what’s possible in publishing, offering authors a faster, smarter, and fairer way to share their stories with the world.
